JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of specialized clerical duties relating to the process of registration for outpatient testing as well as Pre Admission and Full Admission of patients from the Emergency Room, Outpatient Departments, as well as Hospital admissions. Performs tasks as assigned by Department Manager and Department Assistant Manager. Will notify insurance companies of Admissions, and obtain Pre Authorizations for outpatient testing as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
2. Ability to read, understand, write and communicate in English.
3. Knowledge of basic clerical skills and PC Windows software.
4. Maintain 95% or greater on monthly audits after 3 months.
5. Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
6. Maintains appropriate standard of behavior and conduct while demonstrating maturity and capability for careful judgement and critical decision making.
7. Maintains professionalism and demonstrates common courtesy.
8. Works well with co-workers and other departments.
9. Learn to operate hospital telephone system to relay incoming, outgoing, interoffice and interdepartmental calls as well as calling codes for the hospital when relieving the hospital operator.
