Job Summary:
Under general supervision of a registered nurse and within the scope of practice a variety of nursing duties for patients in the clinical areas.
Education:
Certificate of Nursing: Required
Certification & Licensure:
Licensed Vocational Nurse: Required
GVN or Temporary Permit: Required
CPR: Required within 90 days
Additional Comments:
- LVN assigned to Step-Down Unit (4N), (6T), IMC (4S) core staff must be certified in ACLS in the first year of employment and maintain current ACLS certification. (New grads have 2 years to obtain ACLS)
- LVN assigned to Stroke Unit must be certified in NIHSS within 90 days and maintain the required certification.
- Float Pool and Registry staff must have 1 year recent experience as an LVN in a hospital setting.
