Summary: Under minimal Supervision, runs and operates manual and CNC (computer numerical controlled) saw to cut and readies material for customer and shop needs.
Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:
*Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner and complies with company policies.
*Determine the uses of personal protective equipment (PPE); identify the safety equipment and procedures related to safe work practices and surrounding environment.
*Able to run and complete parts using the MRP Network and the R-Tech Work list.
*Using the MRP system to clock in and out of jobs upon set-up and completion of jobs.
*Maintaining and filling out of quality sheets to verify part tolerances.
*Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
*Selects and installs blade on machine, using hand tools, along with setting controls to adjust speed, feed rate, and blade tensions when sawing different grades of material.
*Maintains and records MTR/Heat Numbers into the MRP Network for material reference.
*Uses job numbers and MRP Network for specifications, such as material, type, and size of stock, and dimensions to be sawed.
*Responsible for off-loading material from steel suppliers and keep and maintaining steel inventory in a systematic fashion that references the MRP Network along with identify material by size, color and coding.
*Obtains and transfers stock to saw conveyor, which can be done manually, or aid from an overhead hoist or forklift.
*Saw Operator will position and secure stock against stops or in feeding device and will program saw to start machine and observes operation while in automatic operation.
*Identify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming material into recycle bins.
*Properly and safely set up saw equipment and perform preventive maintenance routines, and maintain other issued measurement equipment in an excellent working condition.
*Applies knowledge and experience and makes process or improvement recommendations for upcoming jobs.
*May perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience:
*High School diploma or GED required
*Two years related experience and / or training or an equivalent combination of education and training and experience.
Language Skills:
Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.
