Job Summary:
Repair, replace and install roofs on residential houses and commercial businesses. They inspect roofs to ensure there are no leaks or any damage that might cause leaks in the future.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Comfortable working on ladders and roofs.
- Inspect roofs to determine the best repair or replacement procedures.
- Install, repair, and maintain various types of roofing systems.
- Measure and cut roofing materials to fit specific areas.
- Install insulation and vapor barriers.
- Ensure roofing projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Adhere to safety protocols and use protective equipment.
- Communicate with clients to understand their roofing needs and provide solutions.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Work with other team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Identify and address any potential roofing issues before they become major problems.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance on existing roofs.
- Remove debris and clean up job sites after completing roofing projects.
- Maintain clean, neat, and professional appearance.
- Maintain a clear, neat and professional workspace.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Roofing Technician or similar role.
- Knowledge of various roofing materials and techniques.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Strong physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Proficiency in using roofing tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and protocols.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends if needed.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating materials.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years related experience required.
