SUMMARY
Senior Accounts Payable Specialist should have strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review invoices for appropriate documentation, coding and approval prior to processing
- Entering and uploading invoices into Premier
- Process invoices and check requests in an accurate and timely manner
- Maintain vendors such as AP locations and payment terms
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, invoice requests and inquiries
- Work vendor statements each month and follows up on old invoices
- Assist with month-end closing
- Provide supporting documentation for audits
- Scan all invoices keyed and index
- Research and resolve accounts payable or accounts receivable issues with customers or vendors
- Maintain 1099 information on vendors and help process 1099’s at year end
- Participate in system upgrades and process improvement initiatives
- Serve as a resource and mentor to Accounts Payable staff by providing guidance, training, and support

QUALIFICATIONS
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have 2 years experience with an automated AP System, knowledge of SC sales & use tax, knowledge of W-9 and 1099 regulations.
