About Medstation
A Medstation é "A Clínica do Brasileiro no Mundo." Since 2012 we have been the primary care network of the Brazilian community in Florida, 6 locations across South Florida and Orlando, a growing telehealth platform, and tens of thousands of patients served in Portuguese. We are physician-led and family-owned, and we are scaling.
The Opportunity
We are hiring an IT Support Assistant to join our clinic operations backbone. In a growing primary care network, technology is directly tied to patient care: when an intake workstation slows down, when a prescription printer disconnects, or when a telehealth room loses audio, medical care stops.
This is not a remote ticket-routing job. You will be on the ground, learning healthcare IT from the inside out. You will own first-line support for our clinic teams, troubleshooting core electronic health records (EHR/EMR), maintaining computers and clinical hardware, resolving connectivity hiccups, and helping protect patient data under strict healthcare privacy standards.
You will work directly with our operational leaders, clinic coordinators, and technical team, with real ownership and practical exposure in a fast-paced, scaling medical group.
What you will own
- First-line systems support: serve as the primary point of contact for clinic staff resolving issues in EHR/EMR platforms (NextGen, eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth), patient portals, and operational software.
- Hardware maintenance & setup: configure, deploy, diagnose, and repair desktop computers, all-in-one workstations, laptops, and monitors across reception desks and doctor consult rooms.
- Clinical peripherals: maintain and troubleshoot thermal label printers, document and ID scanners, digital signature pads, and credit card terminals (POS) to keep clinic flow uninterrupted.
- Telehealth enablement: test and maintain webcam, microphone, and browser configurations in doctor rooms to guarantee seamless virtual patient consultations.
- Clinic onboarding setup: prepare and deploy user profiles, workstation hardware, and peripheral routing for new medical assistants, front-desk staff, and providers.
- Basic connectivity triage: troubleshoot local clinic Wi-Fi, Ethernet cabling, and VoIP desk phones, escalating service issues to telecom and internet vendors when needed.
- HIPAA & hardware security: verify that clinic workstations enforce automatic lockouts, maintain local antivirus protection, and ensure retired equipment is wiped according to security protocols.
- Inventory & ticket tracking: document technical issues, log resolution steps, and maintain an organized inventory of computing hardware and peripherals across sites.
What we're looking for
- Associate degree or ongoing degree/coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on technical foundation.
- Solid understanding of Windows OS (10/11), Microsoft 365, browser settings, and computer hardware troubleshooting/assembly.
- Strong interest or background in healthcare technology, clinical workflows, and patient privacy concepts (EHR/EMR, HIPAA).
- Practical network fundamentals: understanding of local IP addressing, Wi-Fi connectivity, routers, and switches.
- Fluent Portuguese and English (you will support and communicate daily with team members in both languages).
- Customer-first attitude: patience, clear communication with non-technical medical staff, and a genuine drive to solve hands-on problems.
- In-person availability in South Florida (Pompano Beach HQ with local travel to clinics in Broward, Miami-Dade, or Palm Beach as needed).
