Sleep Health Educator
The Sleep Health Educator works under the general supervision of the Medical Director and department leadership to provide comprehensive education, evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. In addition to proficiency in all competencies related to sleep technology, this position participates with clinical patient education, compliance management, evaluation, diagnostic and therapeutic testing and home therapy.
Minimum Education
- Associates Degree in the Health Sciences or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Work Experience
- 5 years prior experience employed as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
- Experience at an AASM accredited Sleep Center.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Current RPSGT or CRTRRT registration.
- CCSH (Certified Clinical Sleep Educator) Certification
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge of all Polysomnography equipment.
- Knowledge of infection control.
- Demonstrated safe, knowledgeable practice skills at all times based on theory and consistent with Policies and Procedures.
- Understands communication techniques for teaching and the principles of learning to enhance education
- Understands how to identify and analyze results of various tests and tools to diagnose and evaluate sleep disorders.
- Possesses a keen understanding of Customer Service
- Knows how to assess patient compliance and comfort with treatment to improve clinical outcomes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are required and the ability to interact with a variety of customers groups.
- Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
Pay Range: $32.15 - $46.84
