Moves and cleans vehicles, keeps the vehicles in sound working condition, and helps service manager and general manager as requested.
Automotive Service Porter - Essential Duties
- Maintains new and used vehicle inventory appearance and performance by cleaning interior and exterior of vehicles, replenishing all vehicle fluids as needed, and replacing batteries when necessary.
- Places buyer guides and stock tags in vehicles.
- Keeps new- and used-vehicle lots neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by the general manager and in accordance with dealership display standards.
- Sweeps, shovels or vacuums loose debris or salvageable scrap into containers and removes containers from work areas.
- Inspect parts, equipment, or vehicles for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations.
- Drives vehicles to and from service lane, service stalls, and parking lot as needed.
- Makes key tags for vehicles.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Immediately report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees, or customers.
- Comply with all company policies as required, i.e.: Meal and rest period policy, timekeeping, safeguarding of customer information, etc. Please refer to the Employee Handbook for further detail.
- Complete all required HR training videos
- Complete all required certification courses respective to position.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and immediately inform management of any changes in its status.
- Maintain a professional appearance. i.e.: a high level of personal grooming, hygiene, and uniform appearance. See Employee Handbook for more details.
