Pay Range: $18.51-$23.60*
POSITION SUMMARY
The Human Resources Clerk is responsible for the accurate, timely, confidential, and organized management of employee personnel records across the healthcare system. The primary focus of this position is maintaining personnel files, converting and organizing paper records into electronic personnel files, ensuring required employment documentation is properly filed, and maintaining the integrity and security of the Human Resources records system.
The HR Clerk supports Human Resources operations by ensuring employee records are complete, properly indexed, readily accessible to authorized personnel, and maintained in accordance with organizational policies, applicable federal and New York State requirements, regulatory standards, collective bargaining agreements, and records-retention requirements.
The position requires a high level of attention to detail, confidentiality, organization, data accuracy, and the ability to handle sensitive employee information appropriately.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One year of administrative, clerical, records-management, Human Resources, healthcare, or related experience preferred.
- Experience working with electronic document-management systems preferred.
- Experience with HRIS systems preferred.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Previous Human Resources or healthcare HR experience.
- Experience with electronic personnel file systems.
- Experience scanning, indexing, and managing large volumes of confidential records.
- Experience with HRIS systems.
- Familiarity with New York State healthcare employment documentation and regulatory requirements.
