- Compensation: $15.50 to $22.48 per hour, based on education, experience, and internal equity.
- Schedule: PRN,Typically follows regular business hours; occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays may be required based on clinic needs.

What You'll Do as a Clinic Receptionist
- Greet patients, families, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments.
- Verify insurance information and maintain accurate patient records.
- Perform administrative and clerical responsibilities that support clinic operations.
- Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Support a safe, professional, and patient-centered clinic environment.
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of UNC Health Appalachian in all interactions.
What We're Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
Experience
- One (1) year of prior experience in a medical or clinic setting preferred.
Licensure & Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in medical terminology and administrative functions.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of privacy regulations, including HIPAA.
- Strong computer proficiency and organizational abilities.
- Adaptability, attention to detail, and effective time management skills.
Physical & Work Environment
Physical Demands
- Primarily sedentary role involving extended periods of sitting while performing administrative responsibilities.
- Occasional standing when assisting patients or visitors.
- Minimal lifting associated with handling files and office supplies.
- Frequent keyboard and computer use for documentation and data entry.
- Visual acuity required for reading patient information, forms, and computer screens.
Working Conditions
