Registered Nurse, GR SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse Graduate is responsible for providing safe, patient-centered care under the supervision of an experienced RN. This role supports the transition to professional practice through hands-on experience while developing clinical skills, judgment, and communication within a team-based environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment in pre-operative, post-operative, and observation/inpatient areas
- Performs focused patient assessments and contributes to ongoing evaluation of patient status
- Monitors patients and promptly reports changes in condition to the RN, physician, or appropriate team member
- •Assists in admitting, preparing, and recovering patients undergoing procedures
- Administers medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, organizational policy, and under appropriate supervision
- Provides basic patient and family education, reinforcing instructions related to procedures, recovery, and discharge
- Participates in the development and implementation of individualized care plans
- Ensures required documentation (consents, test results, history and physical) is complete prior to procedures
- Documents patient care accurately, timely, and in accordance with policy
- Performs pre-operative and post-operative patient follow-up calls as directed
- Communicates effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Provides emotional support to patients and families to reduce anxiety and promote comfort
- Participates in discharge planning by identifying patient needs and communicating them to the care team
- Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies
- Adheres to all safety protocols, reports hazards or incidents promptly, and supports a culture of safety
- Utilizes downtime effectively and assists team members to support workflow and patient care needs
- Demonstrates professionalism and adherence to organizational standards of conduct
- Performs other related tasks as needed

- Developing proficiency in the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associates Degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
- Basic Life Support certified
