JOB SUMMARY
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct basic nursing care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) as defined in RCW 18.79.260(3)e. The individualized plan includes meeting patients’ routine care needs and providing comfort measures. The CNA communicates changes in patient care needs or concerns directly to the supervising licensed nurse. He / She must demonstrate compassion and concern in the care of others and be able to accept direction. The CNA must utilize good time management skills and infection control practices to facilitate efficient and safe patient care.

PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS includes the following, other duties may be assigned:
- Receives Orders:
- Receives patient assignment from supervising clinical team member.
- Setup / Preparation:
- Prepares equipment and supplies for patient care related to ADL's.
- Care Provided:
- Assists in ambulation, bathing, oral hygiene, pressure relief or other ADL's as appropriate.
- Quality of Care:
- Reports on patient abnormalities or injuries to the supervising clinical team member in a timely manner.
- Documentation of Care:
- Completes documentation for care provided as well as vitals, intake/outtake, or any other specialty patient care data in accordance with department policy.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
- Completes other duties as assigned including but not limited to supply stocking, checking outdates and organizing equipment and supply areas.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Highest level of education completed, minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
Training and Experience
- At least six (6) months recent patient care experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Proficient in providing age-specific basic nursing care.

WA State Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Active WA State Certified Nursing Assistant License
