Summary:
Supports the Press Systems area by applying advanced knowledge of the digital press functions, coaching and training the cell/team to operate equipment effectively with minimal downtime and optimal quality. Provides manufacturing floor direction for a cell (team) and is accountable for job skills training for the cell.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for safety of all assigned equipment and fellow crew members.
- Operation of roll-to-roll digital press and roll-to-finish equipment, in accordance with manufacturer's operating procedures.
- Follow documented escalation procedures. Provide necessary information to leads and managers in a timely manner.
- Responsible for assisting in writing of Work Instructions and Job Aids
- Read and understand a printrun production order to ensure the correct product is produced according to specifications.
- Master company workflow and execute training for all crew members.
- Finishing and palletizing of all products.
- Ensure proper packing of all products. This includes pallet placards, tray tags and other necessary material identifiers.
- Maintain safety, quality, maintenance, and best practices.
- Manage workflow effectively to ensure deadlines are met.
- Monitor inventory of supplies needed for the press and its associated equipment.
- Work in a cross-functional environment.
- Other duties, and cross training as assigned
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Work in a team environment and lead and train others
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills
- Basic computer and office application skills
- High school or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years running roll to roll digital presses. (Preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Roll-to-finish experience. (MBO/Hunkler/iWeb)
- Understanding of postal addressing and palletizing requirements
- Thorough understanding of paper stocks, weights, and finishes
- Ability to read English, interpret work instructions, numerical data, and ruler measurements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask.
- Must be willing to cross-train on other equipment
- Punctual and willing to work overtime as required.
- Ability to work independently.
- Recognize deviations in quality control standards.
- Job requires ability to lift minimum of 30lbs.
