Position Summary:
Are you an Engineer with a passion for manufacturing who enjoys searching for ways to enhance and optimize manufacturing operations? Our growing business is looking for a Process Engineer to work closely with Operations in improving existing manufacturing processes, providing technical support, troubleshooting process issues, and determining innovative manufacturing solutions. This position is not eligible for employment sponsorship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for manufacturing operations, troubleshoot process issues, and determine innovative manufacturing solutions.
- Identify the root cause for customer complaints and manufacturing issues.
- Provide engineering support related to process modifications and optimization.
- Analyze production data to identify process improvement opportunities in the areas of quality, process variation, cost, performance, safety, and preventive maintenance.
- Determine production costs for new products and for changes to existing products.
- Determine solutions and recommendations for process changes that support achievement of established operating goals.
- Gather and evaluate relevant data through effective interfacing with Production, QA, R&D, Management, and Maintenance personnel to prioritize necessary process improvements.
- Lead or participate in Lean Manufacturing and process improvement projects.
- Lead product qualifications for new equipment, new raw materials, alternate suppliers, and other design changes. Plan, coordinate, and monitor trials, document and analyze results, and implement necessary process changes.
- Implement product or process design changes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- 1-7 years related Process experience in manufacturing environment.
- Attention to detail, critical thinking, and time management skills are crucial.
- This is an in-person job based in Yorkville, IL. Occasional hybrid remote work may be possible after sufficient training.
