About the role
Protect Life Michigan’s East Side Support Specialist will provide administrative support to the Projects Coordinator. This position requires an individual to be organized, have a keen attention to detail and the flexibility to work on many different projects at once. This person should excel when working independently and must also be able to work well with other people, conduct himself/herself in a professional manner, and be proficient with the most common computer programs.
What you'll do
- Organize and maintain the Canton Storage Unit
- Manage purchase requests
- Manage inventory tracking system and deliver new inventory to the unit
- Trouble shoot go-pro issues, as needed
- Clean or fix displays, as needed
- Visit the unit a minimum of once a month to check for organization
- Manage the display log and follow up on late returns
- Manage communications with the property owner
- Respond quickly to any questions or issues related to the unit
- Manage student requests, including shipments, requests, and scheduling.
- Assist at high school speaking events in the greater Detroit area, as able
- Staff the Protect Life Michigan table at speaking engagements
- Record talks and testimonies from students or school administration
- Hand out information cards and log the data after the event
- Answer students questions
- Support and work on other projects with the Project Coordinator, as needed
- Periodically attend events throughout the state as a representative of Protect Life Michigan
Qualifications
- Commitment to the pro-life movement and the mission of Protect Life Michigan.
- Organized, independent worker, detail-oriented, interpersonal relationship skills, exceptional oral and written communication.
- Competent in Google Workspace and Google Applications.
- Competent in basic graphic design and administrative experience required.
- Can easily put together or independently research how to put together a multi-tab spreadsheet with formulas managing inventory numbers.
- Proven experience and impressive results in event planning or organizing.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to build productive relationships with staff and students.
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Pro-life knowledge or experience preferred.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and productively.
Salary/Benefits
Salary and benefits are determined by the needs of the individual, commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include:
- This is a part-time position:
- 10-15 hours/week, semi-flexible schedule to be set with the employee and the Projects Coordinator. This position requires support-raising.
- After completing 1 year of work, eligibility for employer-matched Simple IRA.

- Protect Life Michigan is a support-raising organization. The salary and all expenses associated with this position will be fundraised by the candidate. Protect Life Michigan will provide training and coaching in order to help the candidate reach full support and will pay the candidate while they raise support. We have an excellent track record of helping job candidates reach full support: 85% of our candidates have reached full support within 2-3 months.
- You will complete support raising prep work over the first 1-3 weeks, then you will attend a support raising bootcamp around week 4 of your employment with PLM. Subsequently, you will spend the next 6-13 weeks support raising before beginning your job duties.
