Position Summary:
The Lead PEAK Aide will assist the physical therapists and exercise specialists in the performance of personal training and FES sessions. Responsible for supporting day-to-day functions and processes operating within the PEAK Center and Physical Therapy Department. Oversees the daily schedule of aides and adjusts responsibilities of support staff as changes arise. Assists with orientation of new aides and volunteers.
Position Requirements:
- Licensure/Certification/Registrations: Current BLS for the Healthcare Provider through the American Heart Association is required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience: At least 1 year of experience in the PEAK Center preferred.
- Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal/customer service skills. The ability to successfully handle multiple priorities and prioritize and schedule accordingly while meeting established deadlines. Must be able to successfully and effectively communicate with a variety of personnel. The ability to determine or interpret work procedures for a group of workers, assigning specific duties to them, maintaining harmonious relations among them and promoting efficiency. Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate, problem solve, and adapt to a fast-changing environment with competence. Advanced team-building, conflict resolution, and communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. Able to maintain a high degree of accuracy, dependability, and strong attention to detail both mechanically and technically. The ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position. Possess above average problem-solving skills, judgment, and flexibility.
Essential Functions:
- Assist the physical therapists (PTs) and exercise specialists (ESs) in sessions with clients as instructed.
- Assist clients with safe and efficient setup/take down of FES bike sessions, ensuring that all sessions stay on-time.
- Follow schedules as assigned and monitor the gym for other needs.
- Maintain daily records of sessions completed.
- Communicate daily with the PTs, ESs, and PEAK Coordinators regarding issues relating to the interaction with clients.
- Obtain and assemble equipment as requested by the therapists/specialists.
- Assist in department housekeeping duties.
- Monitor, maintain and clean all department equipment, reporting any disrepair to a supervisor.
- Scan paper records into electronic client files in a timely manner.
- Monitor the stock of supplies and equipment. Retrieve needed items from Central Supply as needed.
- Perform delegated duties as outlined by physical therapists, exercise specialists and PEAK Coordinators.
- All personnel will use hand hygiene upon entering and leaving a patient's room; before and after individual patient care procedures, before and after group patient activity, after hands are contaminated with any body fluids, secretions, or excretions.
- All Craig staff will take responsibility for informing patients, family, and visitors of the importance of hand hygiene in the healthcare and community environment.
- Complete daily aide schedule. Communicate additional staffing needs and scheduling conflicts with PEAK Coordinators.
- Monitor FES bike program for each client and assist with progression of settings in collaboration with the Health & Wellness Coordinator.
- Assist with onboarding of new aides and volunteers.
- Assess current processes and bring program improvement ideas to PEAK Coordinators.

Pay Range: $18.65/ Hour - $26.86/ Hour + Lead Differential
