The JCC is a membershipbased, non-profit agency which offers educational, recreational, fitness &wellness, cultural and communal programs and activities to people of allabilities and all stages of life.
Summary ofPosition:
The JCC is seeking an energetic and motivating certified Group Fitness Instructor,with a keen understanding of customer service and professionalism, to leaddynamic group fitness classes focused on strength training, toning, andfull-body conditioning. This role is perfect for an experienced fitnessprofessional who enjoys helping participants build strength, confidence, andcommunity in a welcoming inclusive environment.
This is a part-time, overtime non-exempt position with scheduleflexibility, reporting to the Director of Fitness. Daytime, evening and weekendshifts available. Schedule will be determined based on availability and programneeds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safe, engaging fitness classes that combinestrength training, muscle toning, and light cardio
- Design class formats adaptable to varying fitnesslevels and abilities
- Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, andmodifications
- Create a positive, supportive, and motivating classatmosphere
- Ensure proper use of equipment and adherence tosafety guidelines
- Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to leadscheduled classes
- Communicate professionally with staff, members andparticipants
- Positively represent the JCC with professionalappearance and conduct
- Provide the highest quality of customer service toprogram participants
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills with aneagerness to grow participation
- Function as a strong team player
Qualificationsand Skills:
- Current group fitness certification (ACE,NASM, AFAA, etc.)
- Practical experience in the fieldpreferred
- CPR/AED Certification or willingness toobtain (American Red Cross or equivalent)
- First Aid Certification (American RedCross or equivalent)
- Strong interpersonal and communicationskills
- Reliable, professional, and enthusiastic
- Ability to motivate participants of allages and abilities
Physical Demands:
- Ability to teach a group fitness class
- Lift a minimum of 50 pounds from the floor
- Ability to stand or move for an extended period of time
Pay Range: starting at $40 per class
