Position Summary: The EHR Systems Analyst I is responsible for ensuring the structural integrity, maintenance, and operational resilience of the Electronic Health Records (EHR) environment. This position functions as a systems architect, working closely with the Supervisor, Health Information Systems and Orthopedic One leadership in relation to the implementation, configuration, and integrity of EHR projects, complex reporting, and technical systems optimization.
Clinical Systems Structure, Security and Access
- Govern user access architecture for the EHR and integrated platforms, including community health exchanges, patient engagement and access systems, data analytics software, and voice recognition/dictation software.
- Executes recurring system access audits to ensure adherence to HIM security policies, HIPAA standards, and internal risk management protocols.
EHR Systems Architecture
- Manage the technical lifecycle for provider and location onboarding/deactivation, including system environment setup, document creation, and schedule template maintenance.
- Serve as the advanced point of contact to provide technical expertise for EHR system exceptions; performs root-cause analysis on software and hardware performance issues.
- Support the technical configuration and back-end setup of MIPS and other regulatory tracking systems, ensuring data capture parameters align with clinical leadership requirements.
- Serve as the internal technical liaison for interface functionality, coordinating with the Interface Analyst and external vendors to manage mapping and resolve unmatched data exceptions.
- Architect and maintain the integrity of clinical master files, including but not limited to: the patient master index, documents/forms, insurance profiles, providers, locations, facilities, DI/DME orders, provider schedule templates, lab panels, pharmacies, and appointment types.
- Manage and monitor support tickets through EMR vendors and associated systems, ensuring technical resolutions align with clinical workflow requirements.
Business Systems Intelligence and Leadership Support
- Execute Executive reporting processes within the EHR to support data-driven decision-making for HIS leadership and executive teams.
- Assist with the generation of productivity reports and provide data visualization support for Executive-level analytics.
- Develop, update, and maintain technical training infrastructure and resources for EHR end-users; assists with the technical setup for new employee orientations.
- Assists with projects and back-end configuration to drive system optimization and clinical workflow improvements.

Education, Experience, and Certification/Licensure Required:
Bachelor’s degree Health Information Management Systems or related field preferred; however, a combination of undergraduate coursework and relevant work experience deemed commensurate may be considered. Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in database management or clinical systems analytical position preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced level skills with Microsoft Excel which may include, but not be limited to the following: able to build spreadsheets, dashboards, and automated templates, use Data Tab tools, consolidate data, creating and formatting charts, and use complex formulas and pivot tables; able to problem solve and troubleshoot; excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to understand clinical terminology; excellent attention to detail; able to maintain a high level of confidentiality; self-motivated with strong work ethic; able to perform multiple tasks concurrently and manage time efficiently and effectively.
