We are seeking a skilled and dependable Plumbing Service Technician to join our growing team.
Position Summary
The Plumbing Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing plumbing systems in residential and light commercial settings. This position requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Essential Job Duties
- Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, drainage problems, and fixture malfunctions
- Install, maintain, and repair water supply lines, drain systems, gas lines, and plumbing fixtures
- Install and service water heaters, sinks, faucets, disposals, and related plumbing equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings as needed
- Assemble, cut, fit, and connect pipes and plumbing components
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable plumbing codes and safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Keep service vehicles, tools, and work areas clean and organized
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding findings, recommendations, and completed work
- Provide professional and courteous customer service at all times
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service calls
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing service and repair
- Valid New Mexico Journeyman Plumbing License preferred
- Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program or equivalent industry experience
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, water distribution, drainage, and gas piping
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Proficiency with plumbing tools, equipment, and diagnostic techniques
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to after-hours service needs when scheduled
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience servicing water heaters, tankless water heaters, and gas systems
- Familiarity with HVAC-related plumbing systems
- Experience working in residential service environments
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move materials, tools, and equipment required for plumbing service work
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as crawl spaces and attics when necessary
- Ability to work at elevated heights using ladders and related equipment
- Ability to work in varying weather and temperature conditions
