Director - Clinic Operations
The Director of Clinic Operations supervises and coordinates the work of the clinic managers, clinical nurse supervisors and front office supervisors to ensure consistent patient experience throughout CMH Medical Group, regardless of specialty or location. It is essential that patients have the same great patient experience and high quality medical care regardless of which clinic they visit. Efforts to implement initiatives related to Planetree, quality and other programs require a unified effort by all of the managers by using common processes.
This position provides clinical oversight of clinic nurse supervisors, develops competency, quality and safety plans for the Medical Group, and manages day-to-day provider needs. The Director ensures that the workload is distributed appropriately among the management team to allow team members to work at the top of their training and licensure, and works to create more efficient processes.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: General clinical office procedures and practices; computer and filing systems; knowledge of CPT codes and modifiers preferred. Computer and financial management skills; team leader; must have excellent customer service skills, computer data entry, telephone, 10-key, communication skills, ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; multi-tasking and ability to handle disruptions; participate and promote teamwork within the clinic setting.
License/Certification:
N/A if the director is not working in a clinical capacity.
If the director is working in a clinical capacity the following is required:
- Must provide proof of clinical training appropriate to the responsibilities of the duties they are filling and must maintain accordingly.
- If a registered nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): must have a current, unencumbered Oregon and Washington State RN or LPN license.
- Current BLS through the American Heart Association.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor degree or equivalent experience/education; Master’s degree preferred; five years previous clinic office management experience required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Works inside. Walking and standing much of the time while on duty. Long shifts necessary at times. Occasional lifting and transferring patients. Subject to occasional physical and emotional stress within a fast-paced environment. Pushes/pulls loaded adult stretchers, beds, wheelchairs, crash carts and equipment carts. Transfers patients to/from cars, stretchers, beds, chairs and ambulates as necessary. Tolerates bending, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling for 8 – 12 hours (shift dependent). Lifts or carries up to 50 lbs.
