About Us
Famous Cigars has roots as Famous Smoke Shop-PA, Inc. We have been part of the premium cigar industry since 1939. What began as a small family business has grown into a respected name in retail, catalog, e-commerce, and hospitality. We are based in Easton, PA. We are known for our product knowledge, customer service, and the experience we create for customers and guests. That experience also includes Leaf Restaurant & Bar at 90 Mort Drive. It is a place where food, drinks, hospitality, and cigar culture come together under one roof. As we continue to grow and strengthen the business, we are looking for people who take pride in their work, value teamwork, and want to contribute to something special.
About the Role
Famous Cigars is looking for an Internal Auditor - Process Controls & Operational Reviewer. This person will help us review how work gets done across the company and where processes need to be stronger.
This role is for someone who is observant, thoughtful, and comfortable asking questions. You will review work across many departments. You will assess workflow, identify gaps or breakdowns, and help leadership see where improvements are needed. You will also review selected customer-facing website experiences. These reviews will help identify usability issues, execution gaps, and friction points. These issues may affect conversion, revenue, or customer satisfaction.
This role does not own the daily work of a department. It objectively reviews the work, identifies issues, and helps guide the business in a better direction.
What You Will Do
You will focus on internal audit, process review, control checks, and operational validation. You will also conduct root cause analysis and selected website UI/UX and customer experience reviews. This work may include Purchasing, Merchandising, Marketing, Graphics/Copy, Call Center, Warehouse, Retail, and customer-facing digital channels.
Responsibilities include:
- Review workflows and day-to-day processes across key departments.
- Document approvals, handoffs, control points, and areas where work tends to break down.
- Review transactions, records, reports, and supporting documents. Check them for accuracy and consistency.
- Identify process gaps, control issues, repeated errors, and unnecessary business risk.
- Assess whether controls are working in higher-risk areas. These may include pricing, promotions, coupons, SKU setup, content changes, inventory movement, and customer-facing updates.
- Look beyond the issue itself to understand the real cause.
- Prepare findings, recommendations, follow-up notes, and action trackers for leadership.
- Conduct follow-up reviews and spot checks. Confirm that issues were addressed.
- Provide limited QA or validation support in selected high-risk areas when needed.
- Conduct structured reviews of customer-facing website pages and key user journeys. Identify usability issues, friction points, and execution gaps.
- Review navigation, search, filtering, merchandising presentation, content clarity, error handling, and consistency across digital experiences.
- Validate key customer journeys. Examples include browse-to-buy, coupon and promo application, shipping and tax visibility, order confirmation, returns, and contact pathways.
- Assist with pre- and post-deployment spot checks or regression checks. Confirm website changes are accurate and consistent. Confirm they do not create avoidable risk.
- Work cross-functionally with E-commerce, Marketing, Merchandising, and IT to clarify intended behavior. Make sure findings are practical, fact-based, and properly prioritized.
- Work across departments while maintaining independence and objectivity.
Why This Role Matters
This role helps the business become more consistent, more accountable, and less vulnerable to repeat mistakes. The person in this position helps us see where processes are weak. It also shows where controls need improvement and where better structure could improve results.
Your work will help:
- Improve consistency.
- Strengthen controls.
- Reduce avoidable risk.
- Support better decisions.
- Increase accountability across teams.
