Position Summary
As part of the Tech24 team and broader Tech24 network, the Foodservice PM (Hot-Side) Technician supports senior technicians in performing preventative maintenance (PM) and basic service on commercial foodservice equipment. This role is designed for individuals who are mechanically inclined and eager to grow within the skilled trades. The PM Apprentice will focus primarily on preventative maintenance, system inspection, basic repairs, and learning diagnostic procedures under the supervision of experienced technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with preventative maintenance on foodservice equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, etc.) Perform routine PM tasks such as testing gas pressure, calibrating temperatures, cleaning equipment, inspecting electrical connections, and verifying overall system performanceIdentify and report any early signs of system wear or failure to senior techniciansSupport basic troubleshooting and minor repairs under supervisionAccurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system Maintain organized truck inventory and ensure proper care of tools and equipmentFollow all safety regulations and company policies Deliver professional and courteous customer service while onsiteParticipate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities Gradually assume greater responsibility as skills and certifications are achieved
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of related mechanical, HVAC, appliance repair, automotive, or foodservice equipment experience preferredTrade school or technical school training strongly preferredValid driver’s license with a clean driving record required Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systemsStrong work ethic and ability to work independently once trainedSolid understanding of mechanical systems and electrical componentsExcellent customer service and communication skillsAbility to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters Must be willing to participate in on-call rotation as skills progress
Compensation Transparency
The advertised pay range for this position is $21-$24. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, mechanical aptitude, and overall qualifications.
