Job Duties:
Perform routine maintenance of equipment and the facility grounds to assist with maintaining a functioning warehouse, distribution center, and mail order facility.
Test malfunctioning machinery, determine repairs, and discuss with Shop Lead for approval and repair as needed.
Lubricate and clean parts and equipment to ensure proper operation.
Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools to repair, grease, weld, cut, change parts, and complete tasks as assigned.
Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes, steel wool, or sanding machines.
Responsible for following the company forklift maintenance policy.
Apply protective materials to equipment, components, and parts to prevent defects and corrosion.
Perform light building maintenance including but not limited to, replacing belts on exhaust fans, minor repairs to doors/ walls, replacing lights, etc.
Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams.
Identifies potential hazards and notifies shop management immediately.
Any and all other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications for the position:
High School Diploma or GED
1 year of related experience and/or training
Experience with Oxygen Acetylene cutting torch a plus
Experience with mig welding a plus
Prior knowledge, or willingness to learn how to operate tractors, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
Passion for working with your hands
Excellent communication, time management, and organization skills
Must provide own hand tools
Occasional travel is required
Physical Expectations:
During the job, employees are regularly required to stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods, use their hands to handle or control objects, and perform tasks that involve reaching, climbing, kneeling, or crouching. The role involves frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds, with occasional requirements to handle more with assistance or equipment. Employees must also be able to push and pull using various equipment. Specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, are necessary. Verbal communication and the ability to hear are also required for safety and coordination.
