Position Profile
The Revenue Cycle Lead performs functions related to the revenue cycle for assigned lines of business. The Lead is responsible for identifying payer issues or trends and bringing them forward for collaboration and solution. The Lead performs duties that support the Billers and Collectors, keeping the revenue cycle flowing properly. The Lead serves as a liaison to the Insurance team ensuring that charts are processed timely and flow to Prior Auth or Billing as applicable. The Revenue Cycle Lead works to foster a positive environment that supports the Team members and enhances the company culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing clearinghouse set-up and functions.
- Maintain payer set-up in EHR
- Perform preliminary work in preparation for billing.
- Monitors Insurance workflow.
- Bills assigned payers and programs.
- Assist with month end process.
- Assures timely collection of unpaid accounts receivable from assigned payers.
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable data to EMR.
- Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional and timely manner.
- Assures accurate data entry for Medicare, Medicare Advantage, commercial insurance and self-pay payments and adjustments to patient accounts, as assigned.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Maintains and enhances professional skills.
- Adheres to high standards of personal and professional conduct.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum five-year health care billing experience and collections experience.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, commercial and AHCCCS insurance, billing regulations and guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence/persuade and gain commitment from others.
- Professional image, enthusiastic attitude and self-motivated work ethic.
- Excellent computer skills, including intermediate-level Excel.
- Strong math and data entry skills, including 10-key by touch.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully.
- Ability to manage time well, meet deadlines and perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and follow-through.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum two years’ supervisory experience.
