What does an Appointment Center Specialist do at Blackdog?
As the Appointment Center Specialist, you're often the first voice a prospective customer hears, setting the tone for their entire experience with Blackdog. Working under the direction of our Director of Marketing, you'll primarily support three of our service divisions: our design/build residential remodeling division, our basement finishing division, and our home services division. Your core focus is managing inbound lead flow and setting qualified appointments for our Sales and Design teams, with secondary administrative support responsibilities.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Making and receiving calls from homeowners who have expressed interest in our products and services
- Scheduling in-home consultations for our Design team members
- Distributing incoming leads to the appropriate team members based on routing standards
- Documenting and updating client information within our scheduling database
- Confirming upcoming appointments and making sure homeowners are prepared for their consultation
- Assembling and mailing welcome packets to clients with upcoming appointments
- Seeking financial credits for unqualified leads received from paid lead sources
- Maintaining a strong understanding of the products and services we offer to ensure appropriate appointment qualification
- Coordinate with our Visual Media Specialist to ensure appointment-related collateral and welcome packet materials are available, organized, and well-stocked; maintain inventory of client-facing materials
- Providing general administrative support to the Marketing and Sales teams as needed
Qualifications for our Appointment Center Specialist position:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in customer service, appointment setting, or a related field preferred
- Strong telephone communication skills: clear speaking voice, good listening skills, and a friendly, helpful, patient phone manner
- A bright, friendly, and outgoing personality
- Comfort with performing structured and repetitive tasks consistently
- Strong follow-up and follow-through
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated
- Able to work independently with limited supervision while also contributing positively to a team
- Comfortable using and learning technology and scheduling systems
- Strong skills with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
For the right candidate, we offer:
- Competitive hourly pay starting at $20.00/hour, with higher starting pay considered for candidates with additional relevant experience
- Supplemental pay:
- Earn $5.00 for each successfully held client appointment you set (on average, 40-50 appointments are held per month!)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-2:30 PM in our Salem, NH office (30 hours per week)
- Occasional travel to our Nashua, NH location for our biannual company meetings
