This role is an on-site position based in Longmont, CO. Our Laser and Gimbal Systems Division focuses on building high energy lasers and precision opto-mechanical assemblies for the defense market, supporting critical national security initiatives and defense innovation. Job Summary:
Attalon, within the Laser and Gimbal Systems Division, is seeking a Supply Chain Manager for our facility in Longmont CO. They will oversee the procurement of materials, goods, and services in order to fulfill the organization’s demands and specifications. This position relies heavily on the ability to build strong business relationships for long-term success and stability in supply chain. The role involves collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams on exciting and challenging product developments in the areas of high-energy lasers, gimballed assemblies, space-based optical telescopes, and active sensing. Responsibilities include overseeing Purchasing, Subcontract Management, Supplier Logistics, Shipping/Receiving Operations and associated staff.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and lead procurement activities and Subcontract ManagementManagement of and active participation within a small team of procurement specialistsSupplier management, including developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans and establishing long-term relationships with key suppliers to realize cost savings and favorable termsDevelopment of cost-reduction strategiesBuild and maintain strategic relationships with suppliersNegotiation for the best value of dollars spentResponsible for Supply Chain Department BudgetEngage in supplier interactions which ensure on time delivery, ideal cost, and qualityResponsible for improvement and periodic update of standard costResponsible for selection and qualification of appropriate Attalon suppliersResponsible for timely and complete new component qualification processResponsible for overseeing Supplier QualityIncorporate production line checks and processes which, in concert with logistics, ensure timely introduction and conformance of new material prior to acceptance for payment or supply shortagesDevelop and implement “LEAN” processes to eliminate wasteAdvocate “LEAN” concepts in the office and serve as a “LEAN” leader for department employeesExpediting and organizing material timelines to fulfill customer demandsCommunicate quality and conformance expectations and concerns with suppliersPartner with Sales to level material flow requirements through cost and other customer incentivesEnsure integrity of supply, such as dual sourcingMaintain weekly KPI’sPerform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Logistics or related field with 8+ years’ related experience or
Master’s Degree in relevant field with 5+ years of experienceAerospace and Defense Supply Chain Management including procurement and supplier sourcingExperience with multiple ERP systems, especially IFS and Oracle
Demonstrated success in contract negotiationsStrong Supplier Evaluation and Relationship Management skillsExcellent time management skillsAbility to secure preferential treatment from critical suppliers for Attalon’s needsAbility to understand and communicate technical information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strategic sourcing, especially related to precision opto-mechanical assemblies, laser systems and their components (Optical, Mechanical, Electrical)Supplier cost-control and schedule driven managementSupplier Quality AssessmentFamiliarity with operations functions other than supply chain management (e.g. quality, inventory, Shipping/Receiving, and Configuration Management/Document Control)
For Colorado, the salary pay range for this role is $100,500.00 - $178,000.00Please note this range is provided as a general guideline.
