Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Information Technology reports directly to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. The IT Assistant Director is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the IT department of the College and is responsible for the IT budget. The Assistant Director of Information Technology develops and articulates the technology strategic plan, providing integral technical support to faculty, staff, and community in areas including the student information system (CAMS), educational systems and equipment and other technical support as required. Responsibilities include systems support, help desk support, and academic software assistance. The Assistant Director of Information Technology will act as the liaison with all Aultman affiliates and will coordinate joint activities as related to the College. The Assistant Director of Information Technology also participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of policies and resources related to technology, systems, and software that conform to the Aultman Health System (AHS) IT standards.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in information technology, computer science or other related field (instructional design, instructional technology) or 8 to 10 years IT experience in related field
• Experience in Microsoft technologies including Windows Operating System troubleshooting, and Office related products, HTML, on-line applications, social networking, and SQL (preferred)
• Experience in the management and leadership of a team
• Knowledge in internet communications technologies (email, Web, blogs, etc.)
• Experience in instructional technology preferred; commitment to improving education processes

• Strategic Plan
• Develop and recommend a short-term and long-term technology plan in relation to the College’s vision and strategic plan
• Recommend resources and options to enhance the College’s mission
• Academic Technology Support
• Serve as a consultant and liaison for faculty and staff who develop and use technology[1]based instructional tools
• Assist with the system administration of instructional technology tools such as the College’s learning management system
• Oversee the testing, maintenance, and upgrading of a variety of hardware and operation software systems
• Assistant with the development of blended/hybrid educational programs
• Oversee the provision of training and support to faculty in the use of technical teaching devices
• Student Information System (SONIS)

• Update the SONIS system with new releases and updates as scheduled
