Nurse Practitioner
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) to join our team in Auburn, NY, serving a rural community in the Finger Lakes region. This role provides the opportunity to deliver comprehensive, full-scope emergency care, including patient evaluation, diagnostics, procedures, care coordination, and patient education. Schedule:
- Shifts available: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM or 2:00 PM – 2:00 AM, 7 days per week.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, identifying clinical signs and symptoms to assess health status.
- Perform and document patient history, physical exams, and procedures in the EMR.
- Present relevant patient information to attending physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, including diagnostic testing, procedures, and interventions.
- Write orders and initiate appropriate treatment for acutely ill or injured patients within NP scope of practice.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff.
- Provide patient and family education, rehabilitation planning, and discharge coordination.
- Participate in rounds, patient care conferences, and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Maintain knowledge of disease processes, pathophysiology, and current trends in emergency medicine.
- Demonstrate competency in emergency procedures, including laceration repair, wound care, and simple splinting.
- Recognize and respond effectively to critical changes in patient status or emergency situations.
- Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate care to diverse populations.
- Incorporate new research, evidence-based practices, and technology into clinical care.
- Utilize community resources and support systems to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Current New York State NP license (or eligibility).
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.

Competitive Salary based on experience: $110,000 to $145,000 per year DOE
