Personalized Nursing LIGHT House (PNLH) is seeking qualified candidates for Residential Aide positions at our Madison Heights location.
Available Shift
Overnight Shift: 11:00 PM – 8:30 AM
Shifts are scheduled between Monday and Sunday, including weekends and holidays as needed.
This is an overnight position requiring alertness and active engagement throughout the shift.
PNLH Madison Heights is a men’s residential substance use disorder treatment and withdrawal management (detox) program, providing 24/7 support in a structured, recovery-focused environment.
Residential Aides play a critical role in maintaining a safe, respectful, and structured environment while supporting residents throughout their recovery process.
This position is primarily based in Madison Heights but may require occasional local travel to other PNLH locations for orientation, training, or operational needs.
Preference will be given to candidates with training or experience in trauma-informed care.

Position Summary
The Residential Aide provides direct support to residents in a structured behavioral health environment. Residents may be experiencing withdrawal symptoms, emotional distress, or behavioral challenges, and staff are expected to maintain professionalism, appropriate boundaries, and effective responses at all times. This role includes assisting with daily needs, supporting intake and discharge processes, maintaining documentation, and promoting a safe and respectful residential setting.
Responsibilities
Support residents with daily needs in a professional and respectful manner
Maintain a safe, clean, and structured residential environment
Assist with resident intake and discharge processes
Monitor resident behavior and report concerns to the team
Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
Communicate effectively with team members regarding resident needs and changes
Maintain professional boundaries and appropriate conduct at all times
Maintain appropriate emotional regulation and professionalism when responding to resident needs, including during periods of stress or behavioral escalation
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic computer skills
Willingness and ability to learn internal systems
Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings
Preferred Qualifications
CNA certification
CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, residential care, or human services
Training or experience in trauma-informed care
