Certified Nursing Assistant - Surgical Trauma
About the Role
As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you are the heart of our patient experience. Working under the guidance of the Nurse Manager and the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, you’ll provide professional, age-specific care that truly makes a difference. You aren't just performing tasks; you are collaborating with physicians and a multi-disciplinary team to ensure every patient receives high-quality, compassionate support.
Your Impact:
- Clinical Support: Master essential services including monitoring vital signs, assisting with daily ADLs, and performing clinical procedures as requested.
- Proactive Observation: Serve as the clinical "eyes and ears" by identifying and reporting changes in a patient’s condition to the supervising Nurse or Physician.
- Seamless Communication: Act as a vital link for our patients by communicating their needs clearly and documenting all interactions accurately within the medical record.
- Team Collaboration: Partner with the broader healthcare team to deliver skilled care tailored to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric.
Hourly Pay Rate: $16.87 - $24.88
Qualifications
Education:
- Prefer a high school diploma or GED.
Experience:
- Prefers at least one (1) year of relevant nursing assistant or healthcare-related experience.
Specialized Training:
- Must successfully complete approved Valleywise Health computer classes.
Certification/Licensure:
- Requires licensure through the AZ Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Requires BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bilingual is preferred.
- Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people.
- Requires excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
- Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
