Network Support SpecialistReporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Network Support Specialist will assist the Network Administrator and the CIO to provide technical support and guidance for all computer systems and users in the Medical Center. This support will include hardware and software support for the facility network, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, personal computers, peripherals, and other hospital-specific applications and equipment so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, diagnosing, and actively resolving end-user help requests. Problem resolution activities may involve installing, configuring, repairing, and upgrading equipment.
The position helps plan, analyze, recommend, install, and support NMRMC’s computer systems and network including, but not limited to: servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, data lines, operating systems, and other types of software. Provides assistance to staff on information technology-related problems. Participates in the design and planning of infrastructure to support new applications and technologies.
Performs all other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
- Associates Degree (AA) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or Vocational-Technical School certificate is preferred. Previous work experience will be considered and evaluated.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
- Microsoft or Network certification is desirable. Other certifications will be evaluated. Consideration will be given to anyone in the process of being certified.
EXPERIENCE:
- 12 – 24 months' experience in Healthcare Information Systems, Personal Computers, and Networks is desirable.
