Position Summary
The Technical Services Manager serves as the primary interface between engineering and construction, ensuring all technical aspects of design are effectively translated into executable field solutions. This role is responsible for resolving engineering-related technical issues during construction, driving constructability, managing RFIs and design clarifications, and ensuring alignment between design intent and field execution.
This position is critical in enabling a construction-driven delivery model, minimizing rework, accelerating decision-making, and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering–Construction Interface Leadership
Act as the
single point of contact for all technical issues between engineering and construction teams Ensure alignment between
design intent, specifications, and field execution Facilitate real-time communication between: Engineering disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical) Construction management and field supervision Procurement and vendors
Technical Issue Resolution
Lead resolution of: RFIs (Requests for Information) Field design changes and deviations Constructability challenges Interdisciplinary clashes Drive
timely turnaround of engineering clarifications to avoid schedule impacts Recognize and prioritize resolution of issues based on impact to schedule, quality and cost Provide technical interpretation of drawings, specifications, and vendor documents
Constructability & Execution Optimization
Lead constructability reviews during: Pre-construction / planning phase Active construction phase Identify opportunities to: Improve installation sequencing Reduce field labor and rework Enable modularization and prefabrication Drive Value Engineering wherever possible and practical Ensure designs are aligned with
means and methods of construction Change Management & Field Engineering
Support development and implementation of: Field change notices (FCNs) Engineering change requests (ECRs) Evaluate technical and commercial impacts of design changes Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all technical changes
Vendor & Equipment Technical Coordination
Interface with vendors on: Equipment installation requirements Technical submittals and shop drawings Commissioning and startup requirements Ensure vendor data is fully integrated into construction execution plans
Commissioning & Turnover Support
Support commissioning team with: Design clarification System turnover documentation validation Ensure systems are constructed in accordance with
design and performance requirements Digital & Drawing Control Integration
Ensure field teams are working from
latest IFC drawings and revisions Coordinate with document control for proper version management Support integration with: BIM / 3D models Digital field tools (Procore, Autodesk Build)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related) 8+ years of experience in EPC projects (construction, engineering, or field engineering roles) Strong understanding of: Multidiscipline engineering design Construction execution and sequencing Experience on large-scale industrial projects (data centers, power, oil & gas, or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in
data center or mission-critical facility construction Background in both
engineering and construction roles (highly preferred) Familiarity with: Modularization and prefabrication strategies Commissioning processes (Level 1–5, IST) PE license (optional but preferred)
