About the role:
The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Corporate Controller and play a key role in building and scaling the company’s accounting function. This is a high-impact position responsible for developing scalable processes, supporting audit readiness, and contributing to accurate and timely financial reporting as the company grows.
As a hands-on contributor, the Senior Accountant will support the full accounting cycle, including transaction processing, technical accounting analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end close. This role will also assist in the preparation of financial statements and ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls.

What you'll do:
- Own key areas of the month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Manage and support payroll tax recording and compliance, including review of payroll tax filings and coordination with payroll provider
- Assist with technical accounting, including application of ASC 842 and ASC 606
- Drive improvements in close timelines, accuracy, and efficiency
- Review general ledger activity for accuracy; investigate and resolve discrepancies and coding issues
- Manage fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and support for annual audits
- Prepare financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow) in accordance with US GAAP
- Build and maintain audit-ready schedules and supporting documentation
- Manage and support payroll tax recording and compliance, including review of payroll tax filings and coordination with payroll providers
- Support stock-based compensation and equity-related accounting processes
- Support external audits, including preparation of PBC schedules and timely responses to auditor requests
- Assist in designing and implementing internal controls in compliance with SOX
- Ensure proper documentation and audit trails are maintained
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Assist with financial modeling and KPI reporting
- Partner with department leaders to track performance against budget and provide insights
- Support preparation and filing of sales and use tax, property tax, and 1099 reporting
- Assist in preparation of corporate income tax filings (federal and state) in coordination with external tax advisors
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all applicable tax regulations and reporting requirements
- Build and document scalable accounting processes
- Identify opportunities for automation and system enhancements
- Support implementation and optimization of systems (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Ramp, Rippling)
- Collaborate with Legal, HR, and other cross-functional teams to support business needs and improve data flow
- Partner closely with the Controller on special projects, focusing on process improvements while maintaining financial accuracy
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by the Controller
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus.
- Deep knowledge of US GAAP
- Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Ramp) and Excel/Google Sheets.
- Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors
- Exposure to FP&A (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Adapts quickly to changes in a dynamic organizational structure and business processes
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to meet hard close deadlines
- Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
Compensation Range:$100,000–$125,000 per year (California). This range represents the anticipated base pay for this role; the final offer may vary based on qualifications, experience, and location.
