What You’ll DoIn this role, you’ll be a key driver of lending success—balancing hands-on lending expertise with leadership, coaching, and strategic portfolio management.
Lead, Coach & Develop Lending TalentMentor, coach, and train lending staff on consumer lending policies, procedures, and best practicesHelp team members build confidence, consistency, and strong production resultsFoster a culture of accountability, learning, and member-focused service excellence
Drive the Full Lending ExperienceManage complex consumer loans from start to finish, including interviewing, underwriting, approval, and closingEnsure every loan decision reflects sound credit judgment, accuracy, and complianceSupport seamless, high-quality member lending experience
Strengthen Portfolio Performance & ComplianceMonitor and analyze loan portfolio performance using a proactive, data-driven approachOversee delinquency management and ensure strong credit quality across the portfolioEnsure regulatory compliance and accurate reporting, including oversight of the Visa credit card portfolioIdentify risks early and take action to protect members and the credit union
Innovate Products & Improve ProcessesContinuously evaluate lending products, policies, and procedures for improvementRecommend enhancements to improve competitiveness and member valueStay current on lending trends, emerging products, and competitor ratesPartner with leadership to recommend rate and product adjustments
Support Growth & Cross-Functional SuccessCollaborate with marketing to support consumer loan promotionsWork closely with core systems teams to ensure smooth daily lending operationsSupport continuous improvement across lending workflows and systems

What You Bring5–8 years of experience in consumer lending or financial servicesProven success in loan origination, underwriting, and portfolio managementStrong knowledge of consumer lending regulations and compliance requirementsDemonstrated experience mentoring, coaching, or leading lending staffStrong communication skills with the ability to influence, guide, and collaborateProficiency with Microsoft Office and core banking/lending systemsHigh level of accuracy, accountability, and professionalism
