Description:
We are seeking a Process Engineer focused on stabilizing and standardizing manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for turning inconsistent, person-dependent processes into documented, repeatable systems that can be executed reliably across the shop.
The engineer will move between departments, working both on the floor and at a desk, identifying gaps, building process structure, and ensuring adoption. Initial work will be focused on documenting and training core processes, improving organization, and reducing day-to-day firefighting. Over time, the role expands into improving efficiency, enabling automation, and helping departments operate with more forward planning and less reactive work.
This position works through department leads but is expected to build enough credibility over time to drive changes more directly. Success is measured by visible improvements in process clarity, consistency, and reduced dependency on individual knowledge.
Requirements:
- Experience improving and stabilizing manufacturing processes in a real production environment
- Strong ability to document, standardize, and implement processes that others can follow
- Capable of working both on the shop floor and independently to build systems
- Systems thinker who can organize work beyond immediate problems
- Able to identify gaps quickly and turn them into structured, usable processes
- Willing to push for change and follow through, while working through existing leadership
- Comfortable operating with moderate to high friction to drive improvement
- Practical mindset, focused on getting processes in place and used, not over-designing
- Mid-level experience with enough independence to execute without constant direction
