Lead Medical Technologist - Lab-Core
Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies the Lead Technologist assists in providing oversight of the activities of Associates in their assigned area of responsibility, which will be Microbiology. Performs all tests and proficiency of all matters of the area of responsibility. Responsible for the work in the areas of responsibility to be of highest quality. The section shall meet all standards of CLIA 88, JCAHO, CAP and other regulatory accreditation agencies. Works under the general direction and guidelines of the Medical Director, Laboratory Director and Department Supervisors.
Education:Must meet General Supervisor qualifications as defined by CLIA-88. Baccalaureate degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology from an accredited institution with MT (ASCP) or equivalent certification, or an Associate’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science with MLT (ASCP) certification.
Licensure/Certification: MT/MLS (ASCP) or MLT(ASCP)
Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of working experience in high complexity testing for the specialties of Chemistry, Hematology, or Blood Bank working as a MT/MLS (ASCP), or MLT(ASCP) in Core or Blood Bank Laboratoryis required.
Skills: Must have excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
