About the role
The Senior Reimbursement Specialist is a key member of the Reimbursement & Market Access team at Mobia Medical . This role supports appropriate and timely reimbursement for the Vivistim implant and associated paired rehabilitation therapy.
Working closely with the Reimbursement Manager and VP of Market Access & Reimbursement, this individual partners with providers, healthcare facilities, revenue integrity teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve reimbursement challenges and improve patient access. In this role, they will also manage complex payer interactions, contribute to strategic initiatives, and support training efforts across the organization.
What you'll do
- Assist with claim submission, denial management, and reimbursement troubleshooting to ensure accurate and timely payments
- Support hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, and revenue integrity teams with claim corrections, appeals, and reimbursement processes
- Research payer policies, identify coverage challenges, and help resolve reimbursement barriers
- Respond to provider and facility inquiries regarding medical policies, prior authorizations, denials, and appeals
- Collaborate with the field sales team to provide reimbursement insights and support access-related challenges
- Contribute to the development of reimbursement materials such as billing guides, training presentations, and budget impact tools
- Support payer outreach efforts, including documentation for coverage reviews and policy considerations
- Monitor payer trends and policy updates, sharing insights with internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records of communications with providers, payers, and internal teams
- Ensure accuracy in coding and billing practices (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, modifiers)
- Support internal reimbursement projects to improve processes and optimize access to therapy
- Senior level: Lead complex payer escalations, support training initiatives, contribute to payer strategy, and manage high-priority reimbursement issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Reimbursement Specialist: 2+ years of experience in claims processing, denial management, or reimbursement support
- Senior Reimbursement Specialist: 4+ years of progressive reimbursement experience, including payer policy navigation and appeals
- Bachelor’s degree required (Associate’s degree with relevant experience may be considered)
- Strong understanding of hospital billing practices, including CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 coding, and billing modifiers
- Experience with Medicare and commercial claims, including interpreting EOBs and remittance advice
- Familiarity with both professional (CMS-1500) and facility (UB-04/CMS-1450) billing preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred qualifications:
- AAPC certification (COC, CPC, CCS, or similar)
- Experience with Salesforce®, EPIC Systems®, or other EHR/ERP systems
- Prior experience supporting a medical device reimbursement team
