Food Service Worker
What You’ll Do
As a Food Service Worker II, you will be part of a team dedicated to providing high-quality meals and exceptional service to patients, staff, and visitors. You’ll support daily food service operations, food preparation, and sanitation standards to ensure a safe, efficient, and positive dining experience. In this role, you will:
- Arrive to work on time, follow scheduled breaks, and maintain accurate timekeeping in accordance with Time & Attendance policies.
- Follow all departmental policies, including dress code, phone usage, and appropriate computer use.
- Stay informed by reading emails, menu notes, meeting minutes, and other communication.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area following infection control and safety guidelines.
- Monitor, complete, and document assigned temperature checks and scheduled cleaning tasks.
- Properly use all food service equipment and tools.
- Prepare food following posted menus, standardized recipes, and portion control guidelines.
- Support the department’s quality program, ensuring menu availability and consistency for patients.
- Follow the daily Work Sheet assigned for your role.
- Demonstrate leadership skills when needed, such as giving feedback, adapting to schedule changes, and assisting with performance improvement efforts.
- Forecast food needs accurately and help reduce waste, including proper use of leftovers.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support food service operations.

Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education
Licenses & Certifications
- Preferred: ServeSafe Certification
Required Experience
- Experience with cooking and food handling
Preferred Experience
- Additional food service or institutional kitchen experience (not required)
