Human Resources / Payroll Specialist
Position Summary
The Human Resources / Payroll Specialist is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations while ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll laws and regulations
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
- Coordinate with Finance for general ledger postings and reporting
- Manage timekeeping systems and review employee time records
Human Resources Functions
- Administer employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS data integrity
- Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and payroll
- Support recruitment efforts, including job postings and interview coordination
- Ensure compliance with company policies and employment laws
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
- Maintain confidentiality of employee records and sensitive information
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in payroll and/or HR administration
- Knowledge of payroll systems
- Paylocity a plus
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and employment laws
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
