About The Role
The Electrical QAQC Manager - O/W - SP13 is a key onsite role within the QAQC-Onsite-SPC13 department, responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and quality control of all electrical construction, installation, and commissioning activities. In this full-time, hourly position, you will lead the development and enforcement of project-specific electrical quality standards, inspect and verify work in progress, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and safety regulations. You will collaborate closely with site supervisors, contractors, engineers, and client representatives to identify issues early, drive corrective actions, and maintain high-quality documentation. This role is ideal for an experienced electrical professional who is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a dynamic onsite environment.
What You'll Do
- Lead the onsite electrical quality assurance and quality control program for the SP13 project in alignment with company and client standards.
- Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, standards, and project documents to ensure all work complies with requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific electrical QA/QC plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and checklists.
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical installations, equipment, and systems (O/W scope) to verify workmanship, materials, and conformance to codes.
- Witness and document electrical testing and commissioning activities, including continuity, insulation resistance, functional tests, and system energization.
- Identify non-conformances, issue NCRs, and track corrective and preventive actions through closure.
- Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve quality issues and provide technical guidance on standards and best practices.
- Verify that materials and equipment delivered to site meet approved specifications, certifications, and submittals.
- Maintain detailed and accurate QA/QC records, logs, reports, and as-built documentation in accordance with project and company requirements.
- Support and participate in internal and external audits, inspections, and client walkthroughs, providing evidence of compliance as required.
- Monitor adherence to applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations, and escalate any deviations or safety concerns.
- Provide training and coaching to onsite personnel on electrical QA/QC procedures, inspection techniques, and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with HSE and construction teams to promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present periodic quality performance reports, including metrics, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
- Contribute to project close-out by validating punch-list completion, verifying final documentation, and supporting handover to the client or operations teams.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in electrical construction, installation, or commissioning with a focus on QA/QC responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC/IEC or equivalent, as applicable to project location).
- Proven experience interpreting electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Hands-on experience conducting electrical inspections, tests, and commissioning activities on active construction sites.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement QA/QC plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and quality procedures.
- Familiarity with managing non-conformances, corrective actions, and root cause analysis in a construction or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in preparing and maintaining detailed QA/QC documentation, reports, and records using standard office and project software.
- Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary onsite teams and client representatives.
- High attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.
- Ability to work full-time onsite, including in a construction or industrial environment, and comply with all safety requirements.
- English language proficiency, both written and spoken, sufficient for technical documentation and coordination.
- Relevant technical education or trade qualification in electrical engineering, electrical technology, or a closely related field (or equivalent practical experience).
