Job Description: Service & Repair Operations InternLocation: This position is onsite and is based in Wilmington, MAPosition Summary:
The Service & Repair Operations Intern supports the Service & Repair team with the administrative and logistical execution of the Return Material Authorization (RMA) workflow. This role helps ensure RMAs are accurately created, received, tracked, moved through controlled areas, quoted, communicated, and shipped in a timely manner. The intern will work closely with Service, Operations, Logistics, and Order Entry personnel to keep RMA units moving efficiently and customers informed. The role contributes directly to meeting service turnaround time objectives and maintaining accurate service documentation in the Service Tracker and MES environments. This position will report to Technical Sales, Service & Repair.
Key Responsibilities:Support the end-to-end Return Material Authorization (RMA
) process, from initiation through final shipmentCreate and maintain accurate RMA records in internal systems (e.g., Service Tracker, MES)Receive and log incoming RMA units, ensuring proper documentation and trackingCoordinate movement of RMA items through designated/controlled areas within operationsAssist in preparing service quotes and ensure timely communication with internal teamsMonitor RMA status and follow up to keep units progressing efficiently through the workflowCollaborate cross-functionally with Service, Operations, Logistics, and Order Entry teamsHelp ensure timely shipment of repaired/replaced units back to customersMaintain accurate and organized service documentation and recordsProvide updates and support communication to ensure customers are informed on RMA statusContribute to meeting service turnaround time goals and operational efficiency targets Minimum Requirements: Currently pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related fieldBasic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organizedAbility to follow processes and accurately track informationGood communication skills and ability to work in a team environmentWillingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced settingReliable, proactive, and able to manage time effectivelyPreferred Qualifications: Previous internship, part-time job, or project experience in operations, logistics, customer service, or administrative support.Exposure to ERP, MES, or service tracking systems (e.g., SAP or similar platforms).Familiarity with supply chain, order processing, or inventory management concepts.Experience working in a cross-functional or team-based environment.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify process inefficiencies.Intermediate Excel skills (e.g., sorting, filtering, basic formulas).Interest in operations, service management, or process improvement.Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a deadline-driven environment.
The compensation hourly rate for this role is $20/hr. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
