The Monarch San Antonio – A Legacy of Service and Sophistication
The Monarch San Antonio, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is a 200-room, 17-story boutique hotel located in the Hemisfair District of downtown San Antonio. It is set to open in early 2026 and is inspired by the Monarch butterfly that migrates through the region each winter. The hotel will feature a full-service spa, a terrace pool, and five food and beverage concepts, including a rooftop restaurant and bar.

Position Overview
The Pool Attendant is responsible for supporting overall pool operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting guests, and supporting food and beverage service. This role also functions as a barback for the pool bar, ensuring bartenders are supported with supplies, organization, and efficiency. The Pool Attendant plays a key role in creating a safe, clean, and enjoyable poolside experience for all guests.
What You’ll Do
Pool Area Support and Guest Assistance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool deck, loungers, tables, and common areas.
- Set up, reset, and organize pool furniture, towels, and amenities throughout the day.
- Assist guests with towels, seating, and general pool related needs.
- Monitor pool area conditions and communicate issues to leadership.
Barback Support
- Support pool bartenders by restocking beverages, ice, glassware, and bar supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool bar and back of house areas.
- Assist with opening and closing bar procedures.
- Support timely beverage service during peak periods.
Operational Responsibilities
- Assist with trash removal, linen handling, and general upkeep of pool areas.
- Support inventory organization and supply replenishment.
- Follow opening and closing procedures accurately.
- Assist with special events and peak service periods as needed.
Teamwork and Professionalism
- Work collaboratively with pool bartenders, servers, and leadership.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Demonstrate reliability, urgency, and attention to detail.
- Accept coaching and feedback to support continuous improvement.
Compliance and Safety
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and pool safety standards.
- Adhere to responsible alcohol service policies.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized pool environment.
- Be mindful of guest safety in and around the pool area.
Other Duties
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by pool leadership.
- Maintain availability for weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods.
Qualifications
- Previous hospitality or resort experience preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in an outdoor, fast paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and physical stamina.
- Positive attitude and guest service mindset.
- Food and Alcohol Service Certifications required or ability to obtain.
