Deli Clerks are responsible for preparing deli foods and displaying said items. Clerks will also operate mixers, ovens, scales, slicers, fryers, as well as wrap and price items within the deli department. They will fill displays while also assisting customers with purchases and any other tasks assigned by management. Deli Clerks are responsible for maintaining a clean work area and following all safety rules set in place by the store.
Deli Clerks interact with customers continually throughout most of their shifts, therefore customer service skills including being friendly, smiling, and being able to suggestive sell to or handle complaints from our customers is the single most important skill our service department clerks need to have to be successful.
Deli Clerks are responsible for making sure the Deli section of the store is well stocked and orderly in appearance; with a focus on food safety and food presentation. Clerks are called upon for food service ( including catering) , food prep, stocking, order taking, order fulfillment, as well as any and all duties as assigned by a member of management. Evenings, weekends and the ability to work varied hours and days based on the needs of the business.
Physical requirements include: ability to walk and stand continuously, lift up to 60 lbs, bend, stoop, and climbing a ladder is required on occasion.
