Quality Engineer (Six Sigma Specialist)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Quality Engineer with a strong Six Sigma background and deep understanding of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) methodologies. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, reducing defects, and optimizing processes to improve product quality and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will leverage data-driven decision-making, root cause analysis, and Lean/Six Sigma tools to identify improvement opportunities and deliver measurable cost savings.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives across operations
- Analyze and quantify Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), identifying key drivers of waste, rework, scrap, and inefficiencies
- Utilize tools such as DMAIC, root cause analysis, FMEA, SPC, and control plans to improve processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues
- Investigate customer complaints and internal non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Develop and track key quality metrics and KPIs, including defect rates, yield, and cost savings
- Conduct process capability studies and statistical analysis to ensure process stability and performance
- Lead internal audits and support external audits as needed
- Drive standardization of processes and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance
- Provide training and mentorship on quality tools and continuous improvement methodologies
$40 - $50 an hour
Compensation details: 40-50 Hourly Wage
