Nasittuq provides Operation & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.

Northern Zones – types of work:
- The General Labourer supports North Warning System operations by ensuring the safety of personnel during outdoor work across northern locations.
- This role involves:
- Perform various duties assigned, which are unplanned or of a transient nature that may include trips to or working at the Northern sites.
- Traveling with teams during assigned projects.
- Supporting seasonal projects, tower painting.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of Northern wildlife risks considered an asset(bears, wolves, wolverines).
Ability to travel frequently by helicopter and small aircraft.Physically fit, able to walk on uneven terrain in Arctic conditions.Strong problem-solving skills, professionalism, and confidentiality.Effective communication skills with diverse groups.Where possible, the summer student will be exposed to different parts of the organization to experience different fields of expertise.
Eligibility:
- Preference will be provided to high school students or students enrolled in a post-secondary education facility and enrolled to continue full-time studies the following semester
- Able to commit to the full work term of employment offered from July 04 – Sept 01, 2026
- Adaptability and ability to manage priorities with attention to detail and work cross-culturally
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently five days per week in an on-site office and/or site environment
- Candidates must be a Canadian Citizen/Permanent Resident, and be eligible for a Reliability security clearance
- Must own safety footwear (Steel toes)
