About the role
The Fleet Maintenance Operations Specialist position supports the TSL operations by coordinating and scheduling all preventative maintenance and associated repairs on TSL units (terminal tractors and trailers) to optimize the uptime for our customers. Each team member will work closely with internal and 3rd party vendors to timely and effectively coordinate repairs. This position will maintain required computerized and manual records of all preventative maintenance. Schedule repairs with vendors and accurate and timely update customers and TSL sales personnel. This position will be responsible for maintaining the fleet preventive maintenance percentage above industry standards.
What you'll do
- Utilizes TSL SharePoint daily for maintenance documentation.
- Maintain preventative maintenance standards for TSL fleet vehicles.
- Arrange PM schedules with customers and vendors before service is due.
- Communicate effectively with customers on unit availability to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Perform daily and monthly PM reports to improve and maintain PM percentage.
- Provide estimates for repairs and services when applicable.
- Determine and order correct parts for the effective completion of all job tasks.
- Timely and effectively work with Parts Department to ship any parts needed to vendors.
- Maintain computerized records using company sanctioned maintenance computer software.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment to optimize effective job performance and customer service.
- Enhance TSL operations and the company’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests as well as exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with all customers, TSL team members and management.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Valid State of Georgia Driver’s License required
- 1-2 years minimum experience with truck/trailer maintenance/preventative maintenance experience.
- 1-2 years minimum customer service experience.
- This position requires a team member to read, effectively communicate verbally and/or in written form, remember and analyze information, and remember and understand specific instructions and/or guidelines.
- Demonstrate problem solving skills and ability to adapt quickly to various breakdown situations.
- Possess the ability to understand and diagnose minor mechanical problems via phone/email and determine the appropriate maintenance intervention.
- Demonstrate applicable job knowledge when communicating with customers.
- Ability to work in a positive, fast paced and high energy environment.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and always demonstrates effective team behaviors that strengthens the team and builds positive, professional relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills.
- Basic proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and web-based applications preferred.
The pay range for this role is:55,000 - 65,000 USD per year(Gainesville)
