We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing complex account reconciliations, executing critical journal entries, ensuring the integrity of general ledger activity, and supporting both the monthly close and annual audit processes. This position plays a key part in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting continuous improvement across the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger & Reconciliations
- Perform reconciliations of major GL accounts including cash, clearing, credit card receivables, and sales tax payable.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset ledgers.
- Reconcile fuel and c-store inventories and prepare margin summaries.
- Import monthly franchise trial balances and complete required reporting.
- Prepare daily and monthly journal entries.
- Analyze P&L accounts and metrics to identify irregularities prior to month-end close.
Compliance, Reporting & Audit Support
- Assist in preparation of sales tax filings.
- Prepare schedules and detailed analyses for year-end and statutory audits.
Process Improvement & Team Support
- Assist in training and onboarding new team members.
- Recommend automation, integration, and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Support the Controller with additional accounting duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Experience working in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 ERP environment required.
- Advanced Excel proficiency strongly preferred.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or other programming languages is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to excel in a time-sensitive, high-pressure environment.
- Willingness to work outside standard office hours when necessary.
Pay for this position is $90,000 annually
