A concrete foreman is responsible for leading a crew of concrete workers on construction projects, overseeing all aspects of concrete placement and finishing, including scheduling tasks, ensuring quality standards are met, managing equipment, training crew members, and maintaining safety compliance on the job site, while interpreting blueprints and project specifications to complete concrete work efficiently and on time.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and direct a team of concrete laborers and operators, assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensuring efficient workflow.
2. Ensure compliance with the Company’s Safety Policies and Procedures.
3. Ensure crews have tools, materials, and instructions to complete tasks.
4. Coordinate material and labor needs with Project Superintendent.
5. Coordinate work activities with subcontractors.
6. Report quantities to management staff.
7. Understand and meet production rates to meet schedule and budget requirements.
8. Read and interpret blueprints, survey stakes, and project plans to determine concrete placement, elevations, and finishing requirements.
9. Oversee the setup and removal of concrete forms, ensuring proper alignment and dimensions.
10. Direct the use of various concrete finishing tools to achieve desired surface textures and quality, including troweling, screeding, and edging.
11. Operate and maintain concrete-related equipment like vibrators, power trowels, and concrete pumps.
12. Inspect concrete work for compliance with specifications, identifying and addressing any defects.
13. Monitor and manage the use of concrete materials, ensuring proper mix ratios and timely deliveries.
14. Collaborate with project managers, other trades, and clients to ensure smooth project execution and address concerns.
15. Employee will be responsible for concrete to include how much to pour; when to pour.
16. Observe all company and customer policies and safety requirements.
17. All other duties as assigned.
