Pay Rate: $20/hr
A Denny's Shift Leader ensures smooth restaurant operations, high guest satisfaction, and team productivity during their shift when managers are not present. Responsibilities include supervising staff (5–20 members), managing food safety/quality, handling cash, inventory control, and addressing customer needs. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills to maintain brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Directs daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency.
- Team Supervision: Assigns tasks, motivates team members, and ensures compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
- Guest Experience: Addresses customer feedback and resolves complaints immediately to ensure satisfaction.
- Administrative Duties: Manages labor hours, inventory, and cash control (e.g., drawer counts, safe deposits).
- Training & Safety: Assists with training new employees and monitors compliance with food safety and cleanliness standards.
Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods, work in close quarters, and lift up to 25–50lbs.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights and weekends.
- Previous restaurant experience is typically required.
Physical Requirements & Duties:
- Mobility & Stamina: Continuous standing and walking (often 85-95% of the shift).
- Lifting/Carrying: Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of items weighing 20-50 lbs
- Body Mechanics: Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and reaching.
- Manual Dexterity: High dexterity to operate kitchen equipment, point-of-sale systems, and handle tools.
- Sensory Requirements: Excellent vision (close, distance, color, depth) for safety and guest service, and hearing/speaking to communicate effectively.
- Environmental Exposure: Ability to work in varied temperatures (hot kitchens, walk-in coolers) and loud environments.
