Job Summary:
The Marketing & Engagement Coordinator supports the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation’s efforts to connect with audiences through coordinated community engagement and marketing initiatives. This role ensures that the Foundation’s presence in the community is organized, intentional, and consistently executed, reflecting the mission, values, and brand standards of the organization.
Working closely with the Marketing team and cross-functional partners, this role leads the coordination of community engagement efforts, including events, activations, and outreach opportunities. The Coordinator plays a critical role in organizing how the Foundation shows up externally—managing materials, communications, and logistics—while also supporting the execution of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
This position is highly execution-focused, requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through. The Coordinator helps translate plans into action, ensuring that both community engagement and marketing efforts are delivered effectively and aligned across teams.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Community Engagement & Activation – lead the coordination and execution of the Foundation’s presence in the community.
- Organize and support regular in-person engagement opportunities, including events, outreach initiatives, and activations.
- Coordinate the Foundation’s presence at community events, ensuring all logistics, materials, and staffing are prepared.
- Identify, track, and manage community engagement opportunities aligned with marketing priorities.
- Represent the Foundation at select events and engagements as appropriate.
- Maintain and manage a community engagement calendar to ensure visibility, planning, and prioritization of opportunities.
Engagement Materials & Production – ensure all materials needed for community engagement are prepared, organized, and aligned with brand standards.
- Own the preparation, organization, and distribution of engagement materials, including printed assets, collateral, and on-site resources.
- Coordinate printing and production of materials needed for events, activations, and outreach efforts.
- Maintain inventory of materials and ensure readiness for upcoming engagements.
- Partner with the design and marketing team to ensure all materials meet brand and messaging standards.
Marketing Campaign Support & Execution – assist in the execution of marketing campaigns and engagement initiatives.
- Support the rollout of marketing campaigns across digital, on-site, and community-based channels.
- Coordinate timelines, deliverables, and assets required for campaign execution.
- Assist in preparing marketing materials, toolkits, and partner-facing assets.
- Ensure campaign elements are organized, on schedule, and aligned with brand standards.
Community Communications & Engagement Calendar Management – ensure timely, organized communication that supports community presence and participation.
- Own the execution of email communications tied to community engagement, including events, activations, and outreach initiatives.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather content, confirm details, and ensure accuracy of all community-related communications.
- Maintain and manage a centralized community engagement calendar, including events, outreach opportunities, and key activation dates.
- Ensure alignment between email communications, marketing campaigns, and scheduled community engagements.
- Track deadlines and ensure communications are sent in a timely manner to support attendance and participation.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Tracking – support internal alignment and execution across teams.
- Maintain project trackers for marketing and engagement initiatives, including timelines, owners, and status updates.
- Track progress across campaigns and engagement efforts to ensure deliverables are completed on time.
- Follow up with internal stakeholders to maintain momentum and accountability.
- Surface updates, risks, or delays to marketing leadership as needed.
- Help ensure clarity around next steps, ownership, and priorities across teams.
Logistics & Execution Support – assist with the operational details required to execute initiatives successfully.
- Coordinate schedules, materials, and communications for campaigns and engagement initiatives.
- Support event logistics, including preparation, coordination, and follow-up.
- Assist in gathering and organizing content, assets, and materials for marketing and outreach.
- Maintain organized records of activities, assets, and outcomes.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in marketing coordination, events, community engagement, or related roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent tools.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp or similar).
- Familiarity with project tracking tools (Monday.com or similar) preferred.
- Experience coordinating printed materials and managing basic production processes.
- Comfort using communication and collaboration tools (Teams, email, shared platforms).
- Experience working in team environments with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in mission-driven organizations, museums, nonprofits, or community-based work is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to attend community events and engagements, including occasional evenings or weekends.
